Rainbow Arabia arrives at Molly's Kompakt

Opposed to any classification too easy, pop kaleidoscopic Rainbow Arabia n ' is rooted in any particular place or time, using modern technological processes to serve a range of cultures and eras of music. This Los Angeles duo had already been noticed by his first EP "The Basta" , synthesizing the bossa nova and post-punk industrial environments with the Middle East. Then with the second "Kabukimono" thus expanding their palette of colors already in varied tones and dark disco dancehall Arabian and African Caribbean keys.

And it is with a hint of surprise that we learned their signature on the label Kompakt be released from their debut album "Boys And Diamonds . Indeed, this disc is a very open in. p in the catalog of the German label, which is not displeasing to us. With "Boys and Diamonds, Danny and Tiffany Preston no longer confined only to extended musical artifacts of the Earth, they are expanding their goals to the cosmos. You will not find disc that recalls both Siouxsie alongside Shabba Ranks, Giorgio Moroder sipping daiquiris in Bali, Desmond Dekker making games legs, Tom Tom Club Congotronics observing, and even early Madonna produced by Chris and Cosey. Unlikely that all this sounds, but it sounded Rainbow Arabia with disconcerting ease.

Release scheduled for February 28 (Kompakt / Module)
